The state government Wednesday told the Legislative Assembly that a total of 157 custodial deaths have been recorded in Gujarat during the last two years. While 70 of custodial deaths were reported in 2019, an additional 87 people died in 2020, the government stated in a written reply to a question asked by Congress MLA Niranjan Patel during the Question Hour.
गुजरात विधानसभा में बुधवार को सरकार ने बताया कि पिछले दो वर्षों के दौरान गुजरात में हिरासत में कुल 157 मौतें दर्ज की गई हैं. इंडियन एक्सप्रेस की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, सरकार ने प्रश्नकाल के दौरान कांग्रेस विधायक निरंजन पटेल द्वारा पूछे गए एक प्रश्न के लिखित उत्तर में कहा कि 2019 में हिरासत में 70 मौतें हुईं, जबकि 2020 में 87 लोगों की मौत हुई थी.
